Day trips around Montenegro
Cetinje – Lovcen
Just 40 minutes bus drive from Budva, you will find the Old Royal Capital Cetinje, the city of enormous cultural and historical value. This day trip is showing you the monuments of this stunning little town located in the heart of Montenegro, belonging to the so-called Stone Sea (ask your guide to tell you this story)! Here you visit the Cetinje Monastery, where the relics of St John the Baptist are kept as well as the part of the cross on which Jesus was crucified. The next stops are museums, after which a walk around the city is also planned.
After 90 minutes in Cetinje, we continue to Lovćen, approximately 35-minute drive. There we visit the Mausoleum at the highest altitude in the world, dedicated to Petar II Petrović Njegoš and built in the 1960s.
From the top of Lovćen, the views are spreading over the Bay of Kotor, the valley of Lake Skadar, and the majority of Montenegro territory. A stunning experience!

Upon arrival in the fishermen village of Virpazar, we board on a boat, where we have three hours sailing tour on Skadar Lake. While on the boat, you get a small treat – traditional ‘priganice‘ (fried dough) and cheese, as well as homemade brandy and wine. This lake is a paradise for birdwatching, and it is the largest lake in southeast Europe while being one of the five national parks in Montenegro.
The lunch is included in the price of this day trip – fish from the lake, or meat of your choice.

Canyons of Montenegro
Excursion to the canyons of Montenegro is very attractive because, among other things, you get to see the deepest river canyon in Europe. It is the Tara River canyon, 1300 m deep, and the second deepest in the world, right after the Colorado Canyon in North America. Here, you will get to experience the infamous bridge Đurđevića Tara.
Passing through the canyons, you will also pass the national parks Biogradska Gora and Durmitor, the areas of astonishing beauty. Possible stop for swimming on the Black Lake in Durmitor national park, where we have lunch.
A visit to the Morača Monastery, dedicated to the Mother of God from 1252, is planned in the canyon of the Morača River on the way back, driving towards the capital of Montenegro – Podgorica.

Boka Bay
The Bay of Kotor, part of the UNESCO cultural heritage, is without a doubt the most impressive when experienced from the sea. Due to its unusual appearance, it is often called the southernmost fjord in Europe, but in fact, the Bay of Kotor is a submerged canyon. The bay consists of 4 smaller gulfs – Tivat, Herceg Novi, Risan and Kotor (also the cities). The boat ride will take you through uniquely picturesque nature, turbulent history and enchanting architecture.
We depart by bus from Budva to Kotor Old Town, where you have free time and a city tour accompanied by a guide after which we embark on a boat in the Kotor marina. We get to explore Kotor Bay by boat including the village of Perast and its islets – Our Lady of the Rocks and Saint George.
Sailing through the narrowest part of the bay, Verige, we continue towards Žanjice and Mirište, where you have a swim stop or if you prefer you can visit the Blue Cave. Departing from here, we go to Herceg Novi to explore another Old Town and its fortresses.
From Herceg Novi, we continue to Tivat, where we dock in Pine Promenade, and we jump back on the bus awaiting us to get back to Budva.
